A Bit About Me
Much to my family’s surprise my father’s job took us from California to Europe when I was eight. That was way back in the 60's. First stop, France for a year. Then four years in Italy where I became 'captivated' by music. Beatles and British bands mostly in those days. After nagging my parents for a guitar for what seemed years one actually showed up on a birthday. I’m grateful to still be playing five decades later.
While having studied music in college I didn’t start writing songs seriously until later, when I started getting interested in original material rather than playing all covers. After learning some audio engineering and co-building a studio (or two) I decided to try self-producing.
With that step I soon realized just how much work, learning, and help it takes to create anything that sounds decent. But at the same time I discovered a love for the process! And while the songwriting and arranging never ceases to be challenging it never ceases to be rewarding.
There has been so much more to all of this than a short bio can touch on but to summarize this trip so far...it is the pursuit of a musical vision and expressing it that brings a sense of meaning to me. My hope is that some of that feeling will transfer to those who listen and share it.
